1. Introduction

The Expert area in the Participant Portal is a front-end platform for experts interactions with the research DGs and Agencies.

The system was launched in July 2012 and currently serves as a registration service for experts to submit their profile (replaces CORDIS) with a view to being considered for an assignment with the Commission/Agency.

53,125 experts currently registered of which 42,915 are valid profiles.

2. Expert registration

One of the main objectives of the new registration service was to enhance the quality of the data:

data is collected in a structured format to ensure consistency and improve the search functionality;

rules requiring experts to complete all fields in order to have a valid profile.

Only valid profiles are visible to the Commission back-offices when running their expertise search.

2. Expert registration Experts complete 6 sections to register their profile
