What it is and how well will use it in the SLLD classrooms.

The Expanding Expression Tool (EET), created by Sara Smith, is a simple multi-sensory approach to help students increase their oral and written language skills.

The Expanding Expression Tool (EET) kit helps to build both oral

expression and written expression.

Expanding Expression Tool. What is it?

Students quickly learn each symbol and consistently describe and define objects and items providing 6-7 details in an organized manner.

For Green Group, students name the category or group the item belongs to.

It is a food.

For Blue Do, students tell the function of an item or what one does with it.

You eat it.

For What Does It Look Like? students describe the color, shape, and size of the item.

It is small, round and red.

For What Is It Made of? students tell what the item is made of or where it comes from.

It grows on a vine.

For Pink Parts the students tell what parts the item has.

It has seeds, an endocarp and a mesocarp.

students tell where you find the item or where it is used.

You can buy it at the produce market.

We will begin using the Expanding Expression Tool for describing people, animals, objects, and places first verbally and then in writing.
