How do you do it?
• Hours• Days• Months• Points• #NoEstimates
Estimates != Certainties
That’s why they suck!
• Managers love them… and Developers hate them
Why (supposedly) you need them?
• Roadmap purposes?
• “Go / No Go” to create something?
• To have deadlines?
Stop focusing on the wrong thing!
• Estimates don’t mean a lot• Estimates don’t bring value• Don’t decide based on hunches• Decide on ROI and Profit• When was the last time
something was aborted because the team told that it was going to take too long?
Do we really need estimates?
