Great news: as Apple racks up sales

of its tablets - 19.5 million in the first

quarter of this year alone – we’re

launching new iPort products built for

iPad 4 and mini.

The Launchport AP.4 iPad generation 4

sleeve, the AP.1 sleeve for the mini, and

the iPort CM-IW1000 Control Mount for

iPad mini, all feature Apple’s Lightning

Connector. This means you can start to

integrate the latest generation tablets

with home control systems from the likes

of AMX, NuVo, Crestron, C4, RTi, Savant

etc, right away, giving your clients an

extremely elegant way to hold, charge

and protect the tablet on a wall or

For those unfamiliar with iPort, it’s another Dana

Innovations first - there have been many. No other product

is like it, no other can offer installers the chance to make

money from iPad sales. In the iPort concept there are two

systems. The Control Mount Series allows Apple iPad, iPad

mini and iTouch to be used as a semi-permanent in-wall

touch panel providing continuous charging of the iOS device

while permitting wireless control. The Launchport system is a

revolutionary way to mount and charge an iPad

virtually anywhere. It comprises a Sleeve and any number

of Stations. The Sleeve is a custom case that slides onto

the iPad allowing full wireless connection with compatible

home control systems and access to integrated controls and

camera – a built in wave-guide redirects iPad speaker audio

back to the user. The Station is the mounting and charging

unit that interacts with a Sleeve. There’s a Wall Station (for

wall mounting) and a Base Station for easy table top use and

Station induction charges the iPad when they come together

and powerful magnets hold the tablet in place. No fuss:

the screen can be placed at any angle on the station and

because the magnets are located on the Sleeve case, you

can also mount it to any metallic surface.
