A long, secure historyEPW Security grew from a company called EricWoolley Services Pty.

This company was started in 1965 by EricWoolley, primarily specialising in television andradio servicing.

During the 1980s, Mr Woolley was increasinglyasked by the larger burglar alarm companies inSydney to install and service alarms on the SouthCoast.

This side of the business continued to growuntil in 1988, EPW Security was born to servicethe customers of the South Coast who hadbecome increasingly disenchanted with the lackof customer service from the larger companies.

Mr Woolley has always maintained that thecustomer is king and in security they deserve andshould expect the very highest of standards ininstallation and servicing.

In 1991, Mr Woolley’s son Steven joined thecompany to help manage the twin componentsof alarm installation and alarm monitoring.

In 2000, EPW Security moved from the familyhome to its current location in the centre ofNowra, to provide for a larger purpose builtcontrol room, dedicated workshop for alarmpanel servicing.

The company continues to install and service

residential and commercial alarm systems as wellas temperature controls on mortuaries, flowcontrols on pumping systems and dedicatedmedical alarm systems for the elderly ordisabled.

The underlying theme of the company is that itis a family company looking after families.

EPW services alarm systems from Sydney toBega, out to Cootamundra, Canberra, Bowraland through to Muswellbrook.

The company recently outsourced the controlroom monitoring and the staff now lookforward to returning to their roots in alarmsystem installation and maintenance.

Back to their rootsEPW Security has long been trustedto service the security needs of theShoalhaven.

The company was renowned forhaving the largest, privately ownedmonitoring control room betweenSydney and Melbourne.

However, the increasing cost ofalarm monitoring, and a desire toreturn to their roots has seen theteam outsource monitoring.

“Now we can go back to the workwe started with a focus on customerservice and looking after alarmsystems,” technician Steven Woolley

said.“That’s what we want to do.”The team can provide security

systems, panic systems, temperaturealarms and more.

“We do all sorts of weird andwonderful stuff,” Steven said.

“But we are getting back to theelectronic side of things, which welike.”

EPW Security consists of founderand technician Eric Woolley, son andfellow technician Steven Woolley,technician Chris Hefferan and officemanager Helen McGuire.

CONTROL systems can beused for many differentsituations.

A few types includethermostats in mortuary coolrooms or cheese factories,

flow control valves in fluidcontrol systems and smokealarm systems.

EPW Security can alsoprovide panic alarm systemsand hold-up alarm systems.
