Product
Product description / Product definitionGlass wallcoverings are finished fabrics produced from glass fibre yarns and glass voluminized (textured) and textured yarns. Wallcoverings are delivered with surface finishing in white colour (standard), with white pigment, preglued (easy glue) or with final coloured finishing. Products are typically glued on the wall and painted afterwards. Standard ones need to be painted twice, pigmented once and finalized ones do not require any painting (but can be repainted if necessary).
Main benefits of the products: Excellent reaction to fire Dimensional stability Durable mechanical protection of the walls -
covering of cracks Breathability Eco-friendly material
For the placing on the market of the product in the EU/EFTA (with the exception of Switzerland) Regulation (EU) No. 305/2011 (CPR) applies. The product needs a declaration of performance taking into consideration /EN 15102:2007+A1:2011/. For the application and use the respective national provisions apply.
Application Products are applied in internal walls in the following steps:
The wall must be clean (no dust, dirt or grease), dry, even and primed. Temperature should not be below 8 °C.
1. Cut to length according to room height (+10 cm).2. Apply the vinyl glue evenly on the wall using a roller (~200 g/m²).
3 Environmental Product Declaration SAINT-GOBAIN ADFORS CZ s.r.o. – ADFORS Novelio®
3. Place the wall covering strip on the wall vertically and smooth it with a plastic spatula.4. Place the adjacent strip edge to edge (respect vertical pattern repeat). Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 with other strips until you have finished the room.5. Cut off any surplus with a knife.6. Apply a 1st layer of acrylic paint when the product is dry (~1 day). Apply a 2nd layer of acrylic paint when the product is dry (~1 day).
The glass fibre fabric is checked before leaving our factory but should also be checked again just before hanging. Any claim should be accompanied with roll label and a sample featuring the defect.

performance data of the product in accordance with the declaration of performance with respect to its essential characteristics according to /EN 15102:2007+A1:2011/,
Base materials / Ancillary materials ADFORS Novelio® glass fibre wallcoverings ( 0,13 kg/m² glass fibre fabric and 0,03 kg/m² organic coating as water based styrene acrylic binder with content of starch) are produced in three main phases:
•In the first phase, glass fibres are produced by melting of input materials followed by drawing and coiling. E (Eutal type) glass is used for the purpose of mesh fabric production in accordance with /DIN 1259-1/ thanks to its good strength characteristics maintained also following exposure to alkaline substances included in façade systems.
•The second production phase consists of glass-fibre weaving, where "greige fabrics" is produced. Different weave methods are used for fabric production.
• The third phase is the hardening process, in which a finishing layer is applied to the greige fabric. There are two purposes of the finish:
1) Fabric fixation for its easy use and workability.2) Fabric compatibility with interior paints for easy paintability.
The fabric do not contain any substances of very high concern (SVHC).
Reference service lifeThe reference service life (RSL) is not declared. A calculation according to /ISO 15686/ is not applied. The product is applied on internal walls. If well maintained, there is no lifetime limitation. Product can be repainted several times without losing its performance.
LCA: Calculation rules
Declared UnitThis declaration refers to the production of 1 m² of Novelio ® fiberglass wallcovering with the grammage of 0,16 kg/m².

System boundaryIt represents a "cradle-to-gate" EPD with the options. The following life cycle stages are considered:Production
A1-A3 – Raw material supply, transport and manufacturingInstallationA4 – Transport to building siteA5 – Initial installation into building (including packaging waste processing and additional material for installation)End-of-lifeC2 – Transport to waste processing,C4 – Disposal (landfilling) Benefits and loads beyond the product system boundarD - Reuse-, recovery- or recycling- potential
ComparabilityBasically, a comparison or an evaluation of EPD data is only possible if all the data sets to be compared were created according to /EN 15804/ and the building

context, respectively the product-specific characteristics of performance, are taken into account.
GaBi ts serves as background database for the calculation /GaBi ts/.
LCA: Scenarios and additional technical information
The following technical information is the basis for the declared modules. Transport to the building site (A4)Name Value UnitLitres of fuel (per kg cargo) 171 l/100kmTransport distance 900 kmCapacity utilisation (including empty runs) 85 %
Installation into the building (A5)Name Value UnitAuxiliary (Vinyl glue) (25 MJ/kg*) 0.2 kg

LCA: ResultsThe following table depicts the results of the indicators concerning the estimated impact, use of resources as well as waste and other output flows in relation to 1 m² of Novelio ® with the grammage of 0,16 kg/m². The scenario for installation contains the thermal recovery of the packaging materials as well as 0,2 kg/m² Vinyl glue for Novelio ®. As End of life scenario (EoL) landfilling is considered in C4. In the table "Description of the system boundary", all declared modules are indicated with an "X"; all modules that are not declared are indicated with "MND". As default the modules B3, B4, B5 are marked as MNR – module not relevant.DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM BOUNDARY (X = INCLUDED IN LCA; MND = MODULE NOT DECLARED)
