0 Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli is about a boy named Jeffrey that meets many people in his quest to find a home. Jeffrey earns the name “Maniac” by doing a bunch of crazy feats that earn him respect from both the people on the East End and the people on the West End. Both ends of town don’t like each other based on the color of people’s skin. Maniac helps both ends of this town through his crazy adventures and the friendships he makes with people. Maniac should end up living on the East End with the black people whereas he should not have ended up living on the West End with the white people.
