Student Projects

When we were informed of the project our group, CRC, had many ideas but in the end a toy car was decided as our goal; for the reason that it had looks and it was functional.

Sketch Work

As we started to create an idea of what our future car would look like we started to make sketch work. Sorry to say our first sketches looked like vans instead of cars, as shown on the top left corner. In result we decided to research for an ideal design, which was chosen and shown on the lower left corner.

The Design

Our Results

In the end we think that our guitar was a great success, it was worth all the stress, but we would like to say thank you to the professors and friends who helped us, even if it was a super tiny detail, it made a differenceThank You!

Our team decided to build a building. We had an idea to construct a building that could resemble the future twin towers. But at the end we decided to make it just a building but the idea can be used to create bigger buildings like the future twin towers. Our building was constructed by many different parts; 8 walls, 2 roofs, 2 bases, and 1 walk way to join both of the buildings, to make it easer to go from building to building. But this walk way also has another purpose, which is to allow workers in case of an emergency to get out safely. The only way our project was ale to come together was thanks to its members; Jackelyne Moales, Anthony Hernandez, and Cindy. Together we were able to make our design true, and with a little help with the program Solid Works.

The Building of the Future

Well as you can now see our short presentation is now over. We have agreed that this class is a very great way for someone to learn how many great designs are made and how a machine alone can do many things that humans cannot do with their own bare hands. This class does have a lot of instructions that you need to follow but with practice you can only get better. So finally all we have to say is we hope that we are able to work with the program once again.

Student Testimonies

What we learnedWhile doing this we learned how to:

Draw a sketch Extrude cut/boss

base Shell Fillet Spline Mirror Edit

sketches/features Assemble parts

But most importantly we learned how to:

Work in a team We learned how to

be patient And how to NEVER

give up (and trust us there were many times we wanted to throw in the towel)

This course we have taken is designed, for us young engineers of tomorrow, to give us a head start of what it would feel to actually design things. It also helps out to get ready for college or as we might say “UNIVERSITY”.

Engineering Academy

What have learned till this point.

We have an idea about orthogonal projection. We learned the basics of SolidWorks: Extruded boss/base and cut Revolving boss/base and cut Swept boss/base and cut Lofting boss/base and cut Fillet, Chamfer, Rib Shell, Draft, Shape, and Dome Linear and circular patterns and other more Converting, offset, mirror, and other features.

It was a difficult decision

We had so many different and creative ideas, we went from a Nintendo DS to a glow in the dark toilet. In the

end we ended up creating a beautiful and

unique guitar.

Our Decision

Our decision came to be when all three of us

were in Paola’s brainstorming on what

we should do. We were browsing her room for any ideas and then we came upon her guitar, and we knew that was it! Now the next step

was to plan and divide.

Our Experiences

It was pretty frustrating in the beginning. We had no idea where to start and when we got started we had complications and we spent endless hours trying to fix them. It was not as simple as we thought it would

be. But we were ready for the challenge.

What we learnedWhile doing this we learned how to:

Draw a sketch Extrude cut/boss base Shell Fillet Spline Mirror Edit sketches/features Assemble parts

But most importantly we learned how to:

Work in a team We learned how to be

patient And how to NEVER give up

(and trust us there were many times we wanted to throw in the towel)

The Future Awaits……

Throughout this whole experience, we learned a lot. Also not only did we make new friends,

but we created memories that will last

us a lifetime, and maybe influence our future in engineering.

Our Results In the end we think that

our guitar was a great success, it was worth all the stress, but we would like to say thank you to the professors and friends who helped us, even if it was a super tiny detail, it made a difference Thank You!
