by completing an EC form

How?

Prospective claimants can contact ACAS either:

by telephone

OR

How?

Limited information required about the claim

Acas aim is one working day to contact employee and a further one working day to contact employer

Reasonable attempts to contact both parties will be made

Engagement

Is voluntary

No sanction for failure to engage for either party

Stop the clock

Contact by Claimant Stops the Limitation

Clock!

NB not the same if the Respondent

initiates contact

Conciliation

If agreement reached

– COT 3 agreed in the usual way

If no conciliation

– continues as it does now throughout the claim but with continuity of the same ACAS conciliator
