Elton Joseph “E.J.” Sonnier, 70, of Winnie, died Sunday, January 6, 2019. He was born on September 12, 1948, in Anahuac, to Mable Marie Hoffpuair Sonnier and Matthew Sonnier.

Survivors include his wife, Pricilla “Prissy” Sonnier of Winnie; sons, Richard Sonnier; Darrell Sonnier and his wife, Nikki; and Harrell Sonnier, all of Winnie; daughter, Yvonne Hudspeth and her husband, James, of LaBelle; sister, Linda Weekley and her husband, Wesley, of Winnie; sister-in-law, Darlene Sonnier of Winnie; grandchildren, Hope Baronet; Adam Sonnier; Stephanie Desormeaux and her husband, Steven; Bethany Herring and her husband, Kody; Ciara Will and her husband Cody; Emily Shelton and her husband, Zach; Elizabeth Hudspeth; Chandler Hudspeth; and Mason Spivey; and great-grandchildren, Sarah Desormeaux, Steven Desormeaux, and Emma Will.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gerald “Coony” Sonnier; and sister, Deborah Smith.
