ES = EHT Standard tools
Synonymous with ultimate quality andconstant availability ex stock. A widevariety of different top and bottomdies guarantees 24x7 availability ofyour machines.
All our EHT standard tools are madewith ultimate precision. The bendingzones (die tip and entrance radius ofthe dies) are hardened and ground.Guaranteed interchangeability for all our standard tools.
A clearly structured package modelin sets ( A to F ) allows you to com-pose your own individual tool index.
Our tools are subject to stringentquality methods, are marked indivi-dually and packed in special sturdycases.

Tool technology
Calculating the bending forces
Material thickness t = 4.0 mm
optimum die opening width V = 32.0 mmminimum edge b = 20.0 mmshortest arm length S = 24.0 mminternal radius ri = 5.3 mm
required press force F = 34.0 t/m
Example: Determining the die width opening V in mm:
Material thickness t in mm 0.5 – 8.0 9.0 – 10.0 12.0 and aboveDie opening width V 8 x t 10 x t 12 x t
Determining the shortestarm length S in mm:
S = b+t
Tensile strengths:
Aluminium Rm = 200–300 N/mm2
Steel Rm = 370–450 N/mm2
High-grade steel Rm = 650–700 N/mm2

There are two different variants to the bending process:
Air bendingCoining
The press force (F) in coining is 3 to 8 times higher than in air bending. The necessary press force (F) results from the die opening width (V) and thematerial thickness (t). The die opening width (V) should be 8 to 12 times the material thickness. For bevellings using this die opening width (V), both the shortest arm (b) and its angle (αα) must be taken into consideration. If a smallerdie opening width (V) is selected, the internal radius (ri) obtained is smaller.
Use the press force table and the appropriate equations to determine the reference values.
