Registration InformationWelcome to the Spring 2014 trimester of exciting class offerings in the Echo Horizon After School Classes. This packet includes registration information, descriptions/schedules of all classes, and flyers for enrichment classes offered by Parker-Anderson Enrichment, Musical Theatre Los Angeles, Cooking Italiano, Funky Divas and Dudes Dance and TGA Golf. The last page is a Registration Form for classes offered by Echo Horizon School Faculty.
Please read the following policies.
Children in After School Classes will remain in their designated “carpool rooms” until 2:15/3:15. They then move to the auditorium for a 15-minute supervised snack time (students bring their own snacks). Instruction begins on the half hour and classes run 45 minutes, 60 minutes, or 75 minutes. Refer to the class descriptions for the length of individual classes.
The Registration Form, accompanied by payment, holds a place in a class. You can sumbit the Registration Form with a check or visit echohorizon.org/afterschool to pay using PayPal.
Please refer any questions about financial assistance to the Business Office, not to the teacher of the class.
Registration for classes offered by Echo Horizon School instructors must be hand delivered (or mailed) to the office. Teachers cannot accept registration for their classes.
If a class is full, the school will maintain a short waitlist for the class. If a child is taken off the waitlist, the regis-tration fee will be required the next business day.
If a class is full, please do not contact the teacher. S/He cannot change the status of the class or the waiting list.
Registration for classes offered by outside vendors is handled by the vendor. Echo Horizon School cannot accept registration for these classes.
At the end of each class, pick up your child from the classroom or area where the class meets. Teachers will not bring children to the foyer when class is over.
Any child who is not picked up within ten minutes of the end of class will be dropped into Daycare incurring a $20 drop-in fee for the day. (A phone call to the parents will be made before dropping a child into Daycare.)
If your child has missed school on the day s/he has an after school class, s/he may not attend the class.
There are no refunds once a child is enrolled in a class and the class begins.

Do you enjoy doing experiments and engineering things but just need a space and materials to try out your ideas? Do you love exploring fun scientific concepts like density, gravity and motion? Come join fellow scientists and engineers in this new after school class where you will be able to develop and test your own experiments! The first few classes will be exciting hands-on teacher led investigations. Then, you will design your own experiments and get tools and materials so we can test them out!
Cost: $180 for 8 classes, which includes a $20 materials fee.

Have fun practicing reading and enhancing literacy awareness in an informal setting! Children will choose from an exciting se-lection of read-aloud books from various genres. They will play games and participate in activities aimed specifically at helping them become more fluent readers. Minimum enrollment of 4 is required for this class to go forward.

Basketball 101Teacher: Earl Hunter II Grades: PK – 6 Dates: April 9 – May 28 Time: 3:30-4:15
Boys and girls will develop their basketball skills and have a bunch of fun. This year, Mr. Hunter will be introducing a new skill each week and playing some fun basketball games. You will learn about offense and defense and the rules of the game . Throughout the trimester, you b-ballers will use new skills to enjoy some friendly competition in the form of scrimmage games. The older, and possibly more advanced, kids will help the younger ones as they show their stuff. Watch out Kobe, the next generation is coming for you!!

Have you ever seen the colorful flags floating, swirling and gliding in the air during our favorite parades and marching band halftime shows? Want to learn the skills to create that magic? During our sessions together you will learn the basic fundamentals of a tall flag color guard team. We will incorporate tall flag techniques with our favorite dance moves and perform original routines made by you! This opportunity will allow you to spin, twirl and toss to our favorite music. It's sure to be a fun, energetic and creative time. Don't miss your chance to join the first Echo Horizon School Tall Flag Color Guard Team. Go Hawks!

We are the Boys Club… the Mighty Mighty Boys Club. We're baaaaaaaack, by popular demand. Mr. Hunter is ready for another fun-filled session of the amazing Boys Club! Join us this trimester, and you will play some new games at the park as well as a few all time favorites. Every other week, the boys will be inside creating awesome gadgets, engaging in cool and wild experiments and even making their own BC gear. There might even be a few surprises along the way. Come one, come all the Boys Club Train is boarding for a Spring adventure!!

Calling all Girls!! Based on the books "Daring Book for Girls" and "Double Daring Book for Girls" we will experi-ence just how much girls can do. Do you want to be a princess? We will look at different princesses around the world from the 21st century and see what it really takes to be a princess today. Do you like parties? Learn how to organize and put together a themed party. Like to be an innovator? We will take a look at women inventors and scientists throughout history. Do you like to play games? We will play and learn the rules to classic games like jump rope, Double Dutch and much more! Embedded in all of these activities we will learn about friendship, empowerment, accomplishment, leadership and camaraderie. Are you an older girl and know how to do most of these things already? Great! Come join us and be a mentor as we navigate through activities that teach us that girls can do anything. Don't be afraid to try new things. Hope to see you there!

Take a trip to Asia with our culinary classroom as we teach kids to make classic dishes such as: Vegetable and California Sushi Rolls, Miso Soup, Thai Spring Rolls, Chinese Stir fry, Chow Mein Noodles, Orange Chicken with Broccoli and Jasmine Rice and for dessert: Thai Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango! Our chef teachers make cooking exciting while integrating academic components such as math, science, history, food safety, and nutrition into each lesson.

FUNKY DIVAS & DUDES is a dance class where students will learn the basic techniques of
dance and how to move to the beat! Rock out and learn dance routines to all your favorite tunes! We promote a healthy life-style for
kids by doing fun-physical activity, teaching kids to express themselves through music and movement, and helping them build
self-esteem. A performance in costumes (provided by FD&D) will be given on the last day of class where family and friends and family
watch their student groove!
