Fulfilling Potential Focus Group

Tuesday 28 February 2012

What are we talking about today?

We want to tell the Government your ideas about improving your lives and the lives of disabled people.

What are we talking about today?

The Government know that disabled people put a lot into society by working, volunteering, caring for other people and taking part in their local community.

What are we talking about today?

They also know that disabled people can come up against barriers. These are things which stop disabled people living like other people.

Barriers might include things like being treated unfairly or not getting the right support to live how you want to.

How can you help?

Today is a chance to talk about

any ideas you have about

improving disabled peoples’ lives

and removing barriers.

We want your ideas about 3 different areas …

1. Realising Aspirations

Get rid of barriers that stop people doing the best they can and achieving their goals in education, work and independent living.

2. Individual Control

Give disabled people more choice and control in their everyday lives.

3. Changing attitudes and behaviours

Improve the way people think and act towards disabled people.

What will ecdp do with the information I share today?
