Nursery Care is being provided every week, during the
worship service, for children from birth through and
including Kindergarten age [unless you are providing
the Nursery Care, then an older child/children may
accompany you]. Please note, however, that we will
not have Nursery coverage on Christmas Eve so that all
families may worship together. Thank you to all who
are volunteering their time in the Nursery!
Your help is still needed each month. Our donations have been overwhelmingly good,
but we still need willing workers to help with this project.
Ebenezer’s Closet is open Thursday, December 13th from 6—8 pm and
Saturday, December 15th from 10 a.m.—noon. Please sign up on the sheet hanging on the bulletin
board across from the elevator on the first floor.

FROM YOUR WOMEN’S GROUP:
The next formal meeting of the Women of the Church is scheduled for
April 2, 2013. At 7 p.m. As in the past, we will not schedule meetings
during the Winter months as we usually end up cancelling them due to
inclement weather. If a meeting becomes necessary, we will schedule it
following a Sunday morning church service.
Secret Sister Reveal: What a wonderful time we had at our Secret Sister
Reveal held at the Kistlers’ home on Friday night, November 9th
! Another
terrific evening! Wonderful fellowship, terrific buffet, and scrumptious
desserts. Ron Keller did well as the bartender who kept everyone in line,
and Robert Oxford and Ken Kistler were excellent waiters! Thank you so
much, Ken and Bev, for all your hard work and for all that you share with
your church family. Our Secret Sisters have already been assigned for
next year.
Homecoming Dinner: Thank you to everyone who helped with
Homecoming. We had another great day – got to see old friends, enjoy a
terrific meal, and hear the very talented Arpeggios sing.
In December baskets filled with fruit, cookies, and candy were assembled
and delivered to all our shut-ins. It’s a wonderful way to remember them
at this special time of the year.
Bazaar Report & Quilt Raffle Report: Profit from the bazaar this year
totaled $5,887.89. The group decided to round that number up to $6,000
so that $3,000 would be given to local charities. Donations have already
been sent to the following.
Phoebe Home Christmas Gifts $100.00
Phoebe Home Activities Fund $100.00
Allentown Rescue Mission $150.00
Valley Youth House $ 50.00
Meals on Wheels $100.00
Lehigh County Ecumenical Soup Kitchen $150.00
Good Shepherd Home $100.00
Salvation Army $200.00
Crisis Pregnancy Center (Care Net) $175.00
Second Harvest Food Bank $200.00
American Red Cross $200.00
Turning Point $175.00
Northwestern Ambulance Corps $250.00
Penn Northeast Conference $200.00
Lowhill Food Pantry $250.00
New Tripoli Fire Co. $200.00
Lynnport Fire Co. $200.00
Germansville Fire Co. $200.00
TOTAL $3,000.00
The quilt raffle netted $3,811 – another great result. Our thanks to everyone who helped in any way – either selling
tickets, buying tickets, sponsoring a prize, or making a donation. Thanks also to the Subjins (Rd Fuel & Heating, Inc.)
for covering ticket printing costs, and to the Kistlers for providing the quilt pictures.
This meant the Women of the Church had $3,000 from the Bazaar plus the $3,811 from the raffle to spend. At their
December meeting, they decided to round this number up to $7,000, which is being distributed as follows:
Ebenezer UCC New Roof Fund $5,000.00
Ebenezer UCC Sidewalk Repair Project $1,000.00
Ebenezer General Fund Deficit $1,000.00
TOTAL $7,000.00
