The water is one of the living conditions. Some plants and animals live there. Organisms grow only if they use clear water. It doesn’t contain lethal substances or any organic waste.

RIVERSIn Bulgaria there are more than 325 rivers. Many

of them are used as irrigating sources such as Iskar, Vit, Lom, Yantra.

The Danube is one of the navigable rivers in Bulgaria. There are a lot of ports on its shore as Russe and Vidin.

LAKESBulgaria is famous for its beautiful lakes. Their water is

pure and clear and people often use it as table-water by creating dam lakes.

The most beautiful are:

MINERAL SPRINGS Since the time of the Romans the mineral springs

were used by imperators as baths because of the Bulgarian conductive location.

Nowadays a lot of hotels and swimming pools are built near them so that people can enjoy thermal water and use it as healing means.

BLACK SEAOur eastern boundary is Black Sea. By it we

communicate with Russia, Ukraine, Turkey. It is rich in fish, shells and other sea dishes.As there are deserted and calm beaches, there

are also many used to build resorts on. The seaside is very desired by bulgarians as well as foreigners.

PROBLEMSSome people throw

rubish in the rivers and lakes.

Many factories just

leave their litter in water basins.

Harmfull gases also take part in the water pollution.

SOLUTIONS Furthermore wasted

water are set to be cleaned, after that they are separated from stones, sand and oil.

Secondary the water is treated for better results during different kind of filters.

THE SREBURNA NATURE RESERVE• The Srebarna Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in

northeastern Bulgaria (Southern Dobruja), near the village of the same name, 18 km west of Silistra and 2 km south of the Danube. It comprises Lake Srebarna and its surroundings.

• The reserve embraces 6 km² of protected area and a buffer zone of 5.4 km². The lake's depth varies from 1 to 3 m.

• UNESCO supports it.
