GIFMIS will be implemented in three Project
phases.
The first phase of the Project would cover
the fourteen (14) MDAs that were initially
under the BPEMS. They include Ministryof Communication, Ministry of Health,
Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Roads and
Transport, Ministry of Education and
Ministry of Finance and Economic
Planning.
The second phase would involve the

Ministries, Departments and Agencies
(MDAs) in Accra,
The third phase would cover the regional
Treasuries and the MMDAs.

a number of integrated electronic financial modules in
the management of public funds

InternalOrganisationGIFMIS is being managed by the
Control ler and Accountant
General's Department under theauspices of the Ministry of Finance
and Economic Planning. A project
implementation and coordination
unit called the GIFMIS Secretariat
has been established.
The main office is located at
the Ghana News Agency Building.
However, the Project Directors'
Office is in Room 604 on block C in
the premises of the Controller and
A c c o u n t a n t G e n e r a l s
Department.
Mr. Seidu Kotomah, is the
Project Director. He is assisted by
two Deputies, Mr. Mac-Effort K.
Adadey (Finance & Accounting)
and Mr. Victor Azamati (Budget).
The project management
team is responsible to the steering
Committee headed by the Mr. Seth
Terkper, Deputy Minister of
Finance and Economic Planning.
GIFMIS is being implemented
by nine (9) specialized teams. Each
T e a m c o n s i s t s o f v a r i o u s
professionals with extensive
experience in the subject area.
Each Team is managed by a Team
Leader, who are experienced
persons with good knowledge of
the public sector.
These teams are supported
by different groups of corporate
and individual consultants.
