S T E P 0 1Incision and ExposureAn incision is placed lateral to the

calcaneus, parallel to the peroneal

tendons. Dissect the soft tissue and

expose the calcaneus.

Note: Make sure to identify and protect the

sural nerve.

S T E P 0 4Determine Step HeightOnce fixation holes are prepared,

use the provided depth gauge to

determine the proper step height

for final implant.

Note: Make to identify and protect the

sural nerve.

S T E P 0 2OsteotomyUsing a saw, make an osteotomy

through the calcaneus across to the

opposite cortex.

Option: CrossRoads cut guide provided to

pre-set anterior holes and provide guide

for saw. Leave positioning pins in place to

identify fixation holes.

Caution: Only drill anterior drill holes prior

to osteotomy.

S T E P 0 5Insert Step StapleOpen appropriate sized implant and

adjust the legs to parallel. Remove

fixation pins and insert Step staple,

using mallet if necessary. Once flush,

un-screw the top of the inserter and

release. Depth gauge can be used as

tamp if needed.

S T E P 0 3Drill Fixation HoleInsure posterior fragment and

drill guide is flush to anterior

calcaneous. Use the provided drill

guide to drill fixation hole in the

posterior fragment.

S T E P 0 6Repeat StepsRepeat steps for second implant to

insure additional points of fixation.
