• The word durian came from the Malay word “duri” which means “thorn”.

• One of Southeast Asia’s most ancient and primitive trees.

• It has a lifespan of 80 – 150 years.

• Fruits grow directly from the trunk in what is called a cauliflorous growth.

 • Flesh is called aril.

• It can weigh up to 18lbs or 8kg!
