Driver Education for Fall 2015:
Dear Parents/Guardians and Students:
Please email me at scarney@arleeschools.org if your student wants to take Driver Education this fall or contact
your building secretary. I will need the following information: Full name, Birthdate, Address, phone numbers and
email address. Please be aware that the deadline to pay the fees and register is July 1, 2015. They must be 15 by
February 1, 2016. There may be a very lengthy list of students eligible to take Drivers Education. In order to get a
more accurate count, the fee of $200.00 for the class is due in the District Office by July 1!. Failure to pay the
fee by this date will lead to your child forfeiting the opportunity to take the class this coming fall. In order to
establish a priority for students taking the class, the criterion will be that the oldest students with completed
registration will be given preference. Notification will be sent to those who have been accepted. If your Student
is accepted you will need to be gathering the legal documents RIGHT AWAY FOR THE PARENT MEETING that will
occur in mid to late August. Please do not call or come without these documents as it will hold up the whole
class. They need an original birth certificate issued by the State of birth, not the hospital or photo copies, a
Social Security Card - no copies, original only and a piece of mail with your PHYSICAL address on it. If you are not
the parent, documentation of legal guardianship is also needed. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY OF THIS DOCUMENT
ATION WITH YOUR FEE. Also, remember if your student misses more than one class, or just one drive they will be
unsuccessful in completing the class and not pass this course. This included the Required Parent/Legal Guardian
and Student meeting. Please note that Parents/Legal Guardians are NOT siblings or family members.

Junior High News:
It’s that time as we close out the 2014‐2015 school year, prepare for summer fun and get ready for 2015‐2016. It truly has been an exciting year here at the junior high. Way to go you guys! Report cards will be mailed out hopefully on Thursday, June 11th, 2015. Please check with your student to make sure all books have been returned/paid and that all fees/fines have been paid and all appeals have been turned in. If your student still has a NC on their report card, for quarters 1, 2, or 3, per board policy you will need to get approval from the Arlee School Board of Trustee’s. Please contact Lonnie Morin, District Clerk at 406‐726‐3216 Ext 2101 on the process. If your student has a NC for quarter 4, you will need to contact Jim Taylor, JHS Principal at 726‐3216 Ext 2300 to schedule an appointment for the appeal. If appeals are approved by the time school office closes (6/23), a new report card will be mailed. If an appeal is received after June 23rd, a copy of the report card will likely be mailed after school offices open in August, 2015.
In April, incoming 7th graders and new 8th graders were given their class schedules for the next school year, 2015‐2016. New this year, per our Board of Trustees, notification to parents will be sent out on their child’s classes the first of May. Parents will have till the end of May to contact the school offices for any class change request. Most of the class registrations were received and students were scheduled in their classes. It is the intention of the Junior High Staff to honor the priority request of the students, but if a class fills, the 2nd request is likely to be used. New class schedules were sent out the first of May and parents had till May 28th for changes. After the JHS office opens in August, 2015 another schedule will be mailed with 2015‐2016 information.
Letters were sent to 8th grade parents in May, notifying them of books/fees that are still outstanding. Thank you parents for helping get these covered. Our 7th & 8th grade students will turn in their final check out form on Thursday, June 4th. Letters, phone calls or text message to parents for any outstanding books/fees/fines that were not received or paid. Final check out for 8th graders will be on Monday, 6/8 at 2pm. Any outstanding fees/fines or no check out form received may interfere with their attendance in the promotion ceremony. All 7th grade will have their final check out on Tuesday, 6/9. School is dismissed at 4:05. NO EARLY OUT!
The Junior High office will close on Tuesday, June 23rd for the year. Anything that is needed to be turned in or paid after, again please contact Lonnie Morin our District Clerk at the above number. Information will be left with her. Junior High Office will open on Monday, August 10, 2015. Any questions, please contact Melinda at 726‐3216 Ext 2404 or 406‐ 241‐9755.
Student’s first day of school for the 2015‐2016 school year is on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 with a full day scheduled. Buses usually arrive at 7:40am giving students enough time for breakfast with Karen and her crew. Bus Bell rings at 7:52am every day and 1st period bell rings at 7:55 when students need to be in their classroom seated and ready to go.
Wednesday, August 19th is a tentative date set for the JH parent orientation meeting at 6:00pm at the JHS. Information about the upcoming year, supply list and students schedules will be available at that meeting and online for summer availability. Visit www.arlee.k12.mt.us, go to school tab, select‐ Junior High. On left side, select 2015‐2016.
Junior High sports start date will be determined later and information will be posted on the website along with a letter after offices open. For sports; students will need a completed physical, signed concussion form, sports packet forms and activity pass ($30.00) paid and turned in before they will be allowed to practice. No exceptions. Forms are available in the Junior High Office until June 23rd and will be available with Lonnie Morin, District Clerk during summer until office opens on August 10th. Approved physicals have to be dated after May 1st of each year.
On June 10th, at 1:00pm, the JH & HS will have their handbook update meeting. If you would like input with the student handbooks for 2015‐2016 year, please attend. Our current handbook is on the JHS website under handbooks.
