P a r t n e r i n g w i t h W y c l i f f e a n d Y o u March 2012
The Borona men in Kenya, East Africa dig wells by hand that are20 and sometimes 30 feet deep in rocky dry river beds. Once awell is dug, a team of men stand on wooden ladders inside thewell to pass up leatherokhales filled with water. The men sing tocelebrate as this life-giving liquid is passed upward. At the top,the men take the water and pour it into a trough for the cattle to
quench their thirst. Although those pouring the water in thetrough are the ones to see the results, it is the team's effort thatwatered the cattle. Likewise, we need a team of people with uswho are willing to bring the life-giving Word to those who arethirsty. Would you carry the bucket?
Many have already joined our team, and are giving faithfully tosend us to Papua New Guinea (PNG). We are so thankful forhow the Lord has strengthened and built up each and everymember of our team of partners. Each person plays a vital role insending. God has grown our partnership team in ways that wecould never have dreamed, and we are so excited to lack only35% or our needed monthly financial support before beingreleased to serve in PNG. Each commitment brings us closer to100%. Our prayer is that we can transition our girls from theschool here in SC to the school system in PNG during thesummer months. The school year here ends on May 24th andthe school year begins in PNG on July 18th. Wouldn't it beexciting if the Lord would allow our departure to PNG to be withinthe next three months?
If you feel the Lord tugging at your heart to partner with ourfamily to help carry the Water of Life to Bibleless people groupsin PNG, would you please contact us? Each person who partnerswith us is participating in bringing the Bible to those who still donot have one, just like each man who passes the bucket watersthe thirsty cattle.

For our airfare to Papua NewGuinea.
AirfareBesides the need for monthly partnerships, we have only one other need thatmust be met before we are able to move to Papua New Guinea. That need is ourairfare. Until now, we have been so focused on building our partnership team thatwe have not mentioned this need. However now that we are drawing closer toseeing God bring our team to completion, we are faced with the fact that we mustask for your help. We have recently made contact with a wonderful travel agencyin Texas that comes highly recommended by other Wycliffe members fordiscounted missionary rates. What a blessing this company has already been toour family as we "learn the ropes" of international travel. However, even withextremely discounted rates, we still need approximately $15,000 to travel one
way to PNG. Can you help us with this need?
We know that numbers aren't a problem for God, and that He isn't surprised bythese figures. That alone gives us such peace and comfort. If God leads you togive, please specify that your gift is for our airfare. We are so thankful for anythingthat the Lord may lead you give.
PNG GlimpseThis month we would like to share a short excerptfrom a blog by Amanda Wulff, a kindergartenteacher working with Wycliffe in PNG. Theparticular post that we are sharing with you isentitled, There May be a Caterpillar. It is about asecond grader advertising for the Teen Center.
"One boy wrote about Teen Center. Some Friday
nights a number of the teens run a "restaurant"that we call Hamburger Night. At Hamburger Night you can get all kinds of foodand socialize with friends. This little boy wrote something similar to this.
Topic: Teen CenterTeen Center is soooooo fun! You can get hamburgers and chips (that means friesfor you Americans) and they are big. You can get milkshakes. They also havesalads which may have caterpillars. The milkshakes are cold. You should go toTeen Center. It is the best!"
Arent kids amazingly adaptable?!
We can't wait to experience the truly organic foods PNG has to offer.
