Kki Cafe

Take a bite into this cake and you’ll be greeted with a tangy flavour that lingers in your mouth, followed by the creamy blend of the coconut mousse.

The passion fruit wedged in the middle of the slice complemented the taste of the coconut mousse, making the two a heavenly pair. I’m not particularly a fan of coconut-based products, but I was surprised at how the coconut mousse tasted creamier than surprised at how the coconut mousse tasted creamier than coconut-y.

The interesting choice of flavours will leave you with a unique aftertaste. Definitely worth a try!

I was confused as to why they called this Little Red Riding Hood, or L.R.R.H in short, when the cake reminds me of nothing even remotely related to the fairy tale character. But then I discovered why; the L.R.R.H has a Raspberry core. You know, raspberry=red. And it was little. The raspberry centre I mean.

At first I felt that the dark chocolate mousse was too rich buttogether with the sourness of the raspberry it’s lovely. But,together with the sourness of the raspberry it’s lovely. But,for those not used to dark chocolate this cake can get a little overwhelming.

Definitely a cake made for the hardcore chocolate lovers!

The many levels of the Noisette cake consist of a hazelnut dacquoise layer combined with chocolate and praline cream. It was kinda hard to isolate and savour the flavours involved in this slice. After biting into the cake, all I could taste were hazelnuts. Nothing but hazelnuts. And maybe a bit of chocolate.

Which is a good and a bad thing. Good in a way thatWhich is a good and a bad thing. Good in a way thathazelnuts naturally taste awesome, and who does not like chocolate? But because of the multiple layers of thiscake one might expect to taste many varying flavours butthe layers have simliar tastes and ended up blending into one.

Nevertheless, it’s still a pretty decent cake to try out.

Among all the choices picked, the Cafeé Dumo takes the cake(yes, pun intended) for me. I love how it slowly melts in your mouth, leaving a mild coffee aftertaste. Imagine my delight upon discovering the praline centre of this dome-shaped cake. I can picture my taste buds screaming with joy as I let the mousse and praline roll over my tongue.

NOM NOM NOM. And I LOVE praline so this piece NOM NOM NOM. And I LOVE praline so this piece gets my vote for that. I have to admit, it looks like such a simple cake. But you know what they say, looks can be deceiving eh? I recommend eating this one with small, savoury bites.

With such a pretty name and tear drop shape, it’s hard notto love the antoinette. The first bite, you’ll enjoy the whitechocolate and the second plunge into it’s soft fluffy mousseand you’d be greated with a fresh mango centre.

The combination between the white chocolate mousse is a wonderful balance between sweetness of the white chocolateand the freshness of the mango centre! Another wonderfuland the freshness of the mango centre! Another wonderfulsurprise is that when you get a few bits of the nutty-lookingtoppings and realize that it’s actually sweet ginger!

Light, refreshing and full of surprises.

“i always had an interest in art and was always sketching,” she explains “i thought everyone did that for fun too!”. Upongraduating, Kylie got herself enrolled in Lassalle but quicklydropped out as she found she could not feel at home as an artist there.

“Oddly enough, it was after i quit arts school that i discoveredphotography,” says Kylie as she takes a sip of tea. Packing photography,” says Kylie as she takes a sip of tea. Characterizing her style of photography as surrealist, herself-portraits just leave you in awe. Many of her early works were birthed at the humble Pasir Ris beach. With adose of creativity and the help of a tripod, Kylie creates photographs that take you to another world.

“Do people stop to stare?” I asked, already saluting herability to put her art work before her pride. “There was once, ability to put her art work before her pride. “There was once, an old man was looking intently at me, I just gave him a firm wave,” explains Kylie and then demonstrates her wave which aptly says “Hi, I see you seeing me and i think you can move on now.”

Kylie is currently working on various projects to improve her photography and she specifically aims to make her workmore commercially appealing creating fantasy worlds one snapmore commercially appealing creating fantasy worlds one snapat a time.

her brother her muse, mun foong’s first menswear piece was a birthdaypresent to her brother and he wore it proud. after 10 years of working as a graphic designer, mun foong felt it was time to challenge herself. “I was becoming too comfortable in my job,” she explains.

At her first fashion show held by PARCO next next for her menswear line A.K.A Wayward, she made another special piece for her brother to wear to the show. Her show was a success, where by her clothes basked wear to the show. Her show was a success, where by her clothes basked in the spotlight even off the runway. The shirt worn by her brother to the show caught the eyes of many and requests were made to the designer to include that piece for her upcoming collection.

Inspired by unique fabrics and their prints, she uses material as the foundation of her designs and works her way up from there. This process results in statement making pieces with special details that play off the overall theme of that particular piece.

The way of a designer is a difficult one, so is the path of an entrepreneur. Selling her pieces from Monday to Sunday morning to night and finding the time to design and take care of the business side of things, one must the time to design and take care of the business side of things, one must really take their hats off in salute to her passion, drive and hardwork.

But don’t just take your hat off, guys, it’s time to unload your wardrobe, clear some space and head down to A.K.A. wayward for sometrend-setting, statement making pieces for fashion week.
