DREAMS INTHE BIBLE

God certainly communicates to His people through dreams.

We will study some of the characteristics of those dreams.

The Holy Bible is full of them, both in the Old Testament and in the

New Testament.

Jacob’s ladder of Angels dream

Works in our dreams.

Genesis 2:21 (NKJV)21 And the LORD God caused a

deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place.

Gen 15:12-13 (NKJV) 12 Now when the sun was going down, a

deep sleep fell upon Abram; and behold, horror and great darkness fell upon him. 13 Then He said to Abram: “Know certainly that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, and will serve them, and they will afflict them four hundred years.

Put impressions in our dreams.

He reveals Himself in our dreams.

Gen 28:13 (NKJV) 13 And behold, the LORD stood above

it and said: “I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.

Reveals far away future plans.

Gen 37: 5-7 (NKJV) 5 Now Joseph had a dream, and he told it to his

brothers; and they hated him even more. 6 So he said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: 7 There we were, binding sheaves in the field. Then behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and indeed your sheaves stood all around and bowed down to my sheaf.”

Reveals far away future plans.

Gen 37:9 (NKJV) 9 Then he dreamed still another

dream and told it to his brothers, and said, “Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me.”

Reveals far away future plans.

Gen 37: 10-11 (NKJV) 10 So he told it to his father and his brothers;

and his father rebuked him and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall your mother and I and your brothers indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?” 11 And his brothers envied him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

Reveals near future plans.

Gen 41:25-26 (NKJV) 25 Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, “The

dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do: 26 The seven good cows are seven years, and the seven good heads are seven years; the dreams are one.

Reveals near future plans.

Gen 41:32 (NKJV)

32 And the dream was repeated to Pharaoh twice because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.
