Passing the Dream Act is imperative for the future of the children that were brought into the US

What is the Dream Act?

Why should the Dream Act be passed?

The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act

It is a bipartisan legislation that will provide children that were brought into this country illegally with the opportunity to go to college and become permanent residents.

Each year about 65,000 U.S.–raised students who would qualify for the DREAM Act’s benefits graduate from high school.

That means that within a span of our four college years 260,000 high school graduates have not been able to pursue their post-secondary education.

What are the qualifications?

Long-term U.S. residence

Good moral character

A single person with a bachelor’s degree who earns an average

$60,000 of taxable income will

contribute $11,564 to taxes and welfare annually; in a 40-year span he/she will have contributed
