Drawing and Painting

by Kristy Lin

Who is me?• This is Kristy Lin, a sophomore in living system.• I came from China last July.• I love drawing

and hiking

My hometown in China

One of the parks in my hometown

My first assignment -- my folder

Crosshatch

• This is one of the online assignments.

• I learned how to use crosshatch to describe light and shadow.

Half face drawing

• This is a value drawing.

• I learned to only use light and shadow to draw instead of using outlines

• It makes my drawing look more real.

Four pictures

• The first one was a value drawing

• The second one was trying to draw it like a baby

• The third one was about sick

• The fourth one was described as a king

Eyes drawing

• I learned how to draw eyes in six different situations.

• In the future, if I draw some one’s eyes, I’ll know how to do it.

• This is one of my favorite drawings.

Kandinsky painting

• We paint this with water color pencils.• I didn’t do too well on this assignment, because

it didn’t look like Kandinsky’s style.

Chinese brush painting• We used rice paper and

Chinese brushes finish this assignment.

• I did a lot Chinese brush painting when I was in China, but I haven’t do it for a long time.

• This assignment remind me the ones that I did in China before.

Water color practice

• This is the practice that we need to do before we start the final water color painting.

• We learned how to make stripes and dots.

Water color practice• This the one of my

water color painting practices.

• We learned to put stripes, dots, flat surfaces, lines together.

Water color painting

• This is our final water color painting project.

• We choose the picture from magazine, and paint it on a very thick watercolor paper.

My favorite artist --Audrey Flack• She is a photo-

realism painter of popular images.

• Her work, often done with airbrush, is rarely smaller than six feet in height and width.

• I love her painting, because I like to paint something real.
