• Inexpensive for the software version• Very intuitive for data entry• Allows you to create drop-down boxes
in most fields to keep data consistent• Issues:
– Custom fields can’t be used in reports – Smartlist reports can’t do totals– The word processing function is clunky
• But there are workarounds for all the problems and Mission Research listens to suggestions for improvements

• The on-line videos are very good. Worth taking the time to view them before you get started, and again when you get to that point
• There is an active Giftworks group on Linked IN. Generally people ask for help for workarounds when the program doesn’t work the way they want – lots of generous help is offered.
• Real people answer the phone in customer service.
• Back up. Back up. Back up. And then back up.

• Designate a point person• Spend as much time as you need
to provide clean data (GIGO)• It will be tedious and laborious – its
worth it• Create a data-entry ‘how to’ manual
so anyone who does it knows the protocol (e.g. Ave. vs Avenue)
