Speaker’s background

• Technology advisor in web & extranet & intranet projects

– Lot of background with Microsoft tools, involved in SharePoint projects since2007

– Also a lot of project experience with Oracle’s systems and open source systemslike Liferay and Drupal

– Most of the customers are large organisations headquartered in Finland (typically over 1000 employees)

– Note: Finland is a Microsoft & open source country (so I am biased in someways)

Finally, as an enterprise buyer, what should you take from this?

1. Microsoft is not going to care about you very much for the next five years or so

2. SharePoint 2015 will most likely be just a fancy service package

3. Remember: Most Microsoft’s professional service partners are in trouble right now (especially the big ones) – you should look for specialized ones

4. Office 365 will be an office platform for knowledge workers. The more you area manufacturing/customer service heavy organization, you should alsoevaluate alternatives.

5. And remember, SharePoint is still a great platform for many purposes. Enjoy it while you still can (=many years) – just don’t expect it to get any better.
