Individuals right to use the minority language

• make sure that the activities within the County Council have knowledge about the rights and have routines to meet these

• make sure that there is routines how to hire interpreters and translators

* seek for offering the citizens the possibility to get in touch with the County Council in their national minority language

* in recruitment consider knowledge of one ore more minority language as an advantage

The local level- the Municipality of Luleå

Luleå is one of five pilot municipalities in Sweden for Roma inclusion

(2012-2015)

• Co-operation: Local representatives of the Roma, National Board Agency for Education, Jobcenter, County Council

• Main areas: education, employment, health and social care

• Local Roma engagement and influence is crucial

• Women and children are high priority

• A strong political will to work with roma inclusion is necessary

• Include the Roma people in strategy writing, planning of activities, implementation – all levels

• Inclusion and influence is crucial

• Open minded in finding new forms for consultation

• Reach women

• Work on a longterm basis and be persistent!
