Discus Databases – Quick Start Guide Choose A-Z List of Resources to see all databases available.

Choose a database that you think will be the best fit for your topic.

For instance, to research Cliques, I chose The Student Research Center: High School

Click Narrow Results by Subject and choose CLIQUES (Sociology)

You will have to do some digging to find the articles you need. Pay attention to the Subject Terms to help you find what you want. Here I am narrowing my search to high school cliques.

Here is an example from another database, Academic Search Premier. For this database, you need to limit your search to Full Text to get complete article.

Click on PDF Full Text to access the whole article.

From here you can email it to yourself using your eChalk login provided by the school district. This will send it to your district provided Google email, and you can then save it to your Google Docs/Drive or copy and paste the Permalink into a Google Doc. DO NOT COPY the URL in the address bar. It will not work later. I promise.

Now you have the citation and a permanent link to the article.

Since you can’t access your school gmail outside the district, open Drive or Docs, create a document and save your information there. You can access your Google Docs(Drive) anywhere with Internet access. Rename your document by clicking on Untitled Document. I would Name this Clique Research. Now you can click on the persistent link and get to your article.

An example of how to email an article from another database. Note you can choose the Citation Format you want.
