Embassies/Consulate in Bangkok (Ref: letter No. 0628/2 dated 12 March 2014)
63 countries were invited (based on list of invited countries from the 5th AMCDRR, diplomatic relations to RTG)

Drafting Committee RTG has assigned H.E. Mr.
Thani Thongpakdi, Permanent Mission to UN at Geneva and the member of WCDRR-III Prep. Com. to be Chairman of the Drafting Committee
To make sure that our conference deliverables will be forwarded seamlessly to the post-2015 DRR framework at the WCDRR-III in March 2015 at Sendai, Japan

Conference Venue/Facilities Bangkok Convention
Centre @ Central World, the main conference venue
Located on 22nd and 23rd Floor with 30,000 sq.km. of area usage
Near Bangkok sky train and many shopping complex and public services

infrastructure and facilities are available (internet access, audio-visual devices and system, security systems, etc.)
Space/rooms for special activities are available (prayer rooms, bilateral meeting rooms, press & media, first aids, copy centre, etc.)
Conference Venue/Facilities At the DRR Market Place and
Ignite Stage area, 3 Pavilions of Thailand, 60 booths and one small stage for the ignite show are available for partners
60 booths at 3x2 m. and 2x2 m. are provided with basic facilities (table, chair, lighting, socket, name plate, trash can)
Special items for booth decoration and exhibition are also available for rental (the item list with rental rate will be provided soon)
Live streaming/Web TV of the important events, run by Thai PBS will be available at conference website
The events include opening/closing ceremony, HLRT, HFA2 Plenary, Plenary, TS
Conference Venue/Facilities
Conference Venue/Facilities Dinner reception will be
held on 24 June 2014 at the Royal Thai Navy Hall (same as APEC’s), near Chao Phraya River
Many activities are available (live exhibition & traditional Thai cooking demonstration, traditional show, etc.)
Conference Venue/Facilities 3 sites are selected for
technical and cultural visit on 26 June 2014
The King’s Initiatives at Chitrelada Villa is for ministers
2 for all registered participants: The Grand Palace for its historial value and flood resilience measures, and Viman Mek Mansion for its beautiful thai tranditional architecture
Logistics Arrangement: Accommodation RTG will provide an
executive suite for minister and a deluxe room for his/her accompanying staff
Other participants can make their own reservation at the nearby hotels recommended in the Admin Note
At least 300 rooms at Centara Grand are secured for 6th AMCDRR participants
Logistics Arrangement: Transportation RTG will provide vehicles-with-
driver for minister and his/her accompanying
staff (one sedan and one van) Head of delegation (one van) SRSG (one sedan)
Shuttle bus are also provided for all participants (airport-hotel-airport)
Additional support (air fare) is provided to some countries Countries with special needs
(LDCs, LLDCs, SID) ASEAN countries Countries with lead/active roles in
DRR
Hospitality arrangement Each country will have
liaison (s) and police officer (s) dispatched for coordination and facilitating as necessary
Hospitality desk will be at your service at all conference sites (airport, hotels, convention centre)

Reminders
Follow-up Invitation Letter RTG will send out
the follow-up invitation letter to countries by May 2014.
Ministerial Statement Countries are encouraged to
deliver 5-minute ministerial statement relevant to the themes and experience of the countries
Ministers are invited to deliver country ministerial statement in HLRT on an alphabetical order (20 countries/session).
