Anterior deltoid flexes the shoulder

Biceps Brachii

• Flexes the elbow • Supination of the forearm and shoulder

• Flexes the elbow

Origin: infraspinatus fossa of scapula

Insertion: Greater tubercle of the humerus

Action: Lateral rotation of the shoulder (humerus), horizontal adduction of the humerus (shoulder)

Infraspinatus Muscle

Supraspinatus

Origin: Supraspinatus fossa of the scapula

Insertion: The greater tubercle of the humerus

Action: Abduction of the shoulder (humerus) and stabilizes the shoulder joint

Flexor Carpi Ulnaris

Origin: medial epicondyle of humerus and olecranon process of ulna

Insertion: Base of the fifth metacarpal

Action: Flexes wrist; acts with Extensor carpi ulnaris to adduct wrist

Teres minor: lateral (external) rotation of humerus

Extensor carpi ulnaris: extends and adducts the wristFlexor carpi ulnaris: flexes wrist and abducts the wrist
