Data Quality or Quantity:Is a Trade-Off Necessary in Citizen Science?

Citizen Science and OPen Air Laboratories

• National programme with 706, 752 beneficiaries (15% of these were ‘hard to reach communities’), >45 000 survey

submissions.

Vision: to inspire a new generation of nature-lovers by getting people to explore, study and protect their local environment

• Bugs Count developed by the NHM: 840 000 invertebrates counted since June 2011.

Verification & Quality Control

• Methods of quality control and data validation in CS are under development.
