Typically, recommenders should use letterhead and include the following information:

• Name• Title of reference writer• Department• Institution or organization

Include details explaining:the nature of the relationship to the applicant;statements about the applicant's academic, research and workforce potential

If the program allows you to use non-official transcripts, then you can use a DARS. BUT make sure the DARS is complete.

I prefer to request a copy of an official transcript, scan it and upload it.
