Calcium silicate is resistant to temperatures up to1050 degrees celsius and will not split or warp at temperatures below this. In addition to itsexcellent fireproofing properties, calcium silicate also has excellent sound proofing properties, ensuring a safe and peaceful home for you and your family.

Care and Installation of your Deanta Door
1. Your Deanta door must be stored on a clean, dry and level surface.
2. To allow your door to acclimatise to its environment, the door should be left in the house for
at least 7 days with the heating on, prior to installation.
3. Should the door require alteration, cutting or planing, it must be immediately varnished,
otherwise it will absorb moisture which leads to problems such as warping or splitting.
However, any cutting, planing or alteration of a Deanta door will void the warranty.
4. Deanta doors must not be installed into a house that is freshly plastered. Plaster should be
bone dry before installation.
All the timber used in Deanta doors is from well managed, ecologically balanced forests. Timber by
its very nature is a natural product and variations in graining and patterning are an integral part of
a timber door and are not defects.
Frequently Asked Questions
HOW DO I STORE A DEANTA DOOR PRIOR TO FITTING?
We recommend that you store a Deanta door on a flat surface in the room it is to be hung for a
week to allow it to acclimatise to the room. This will ensure that your Deanta door will hang
perfectly.
IS IT OK TO FIT DEANTA DOOR FRAMES PRIOR TO PLASTERING?
We would strongly advise against fitting door frames before the house is plastered. When a door
frame is fitted and plastering commenced, you are liable to get plaster marks on your door frame,
the removal of which will damage the door frame. Furthermore, when wet, moisture can seep from
plaster into your door frame causing it to warp or split.
IS IT OK TO PLANE A DEANTA DOOR?
Yes, it is ok to plane a Deanta door. Each Deanta door has been designed to allow up to one half
inch of planing off either side, the top and bottom of the door.

Door Construction
Deanta doors are manufactured utilising the best of traditionaltechniques and the latest in technology to bring to you a doorunrivalled in quality, longevity and appearance. Our doors areconstructed in a traditional manner using dowel joinery Thestiles (sides) and rails (top and bottom) of a Deanta door areconstructed using cross laminated finger jointed solid lengths(lamels) of Douglas Fir which is an extremely hard and toughwood which have been clamped and glued together. This robustframe provides great strength and rigidity.
This solid frame is over laid with a thick veneer of grade A timberto produce a door which is as appealing as a solid door, yet whichhas been engineered to produce a door that easily out performsa solid door. Where our doors have panelling, the panels areconstructed using an MDF core, covered with a layer of real woodveneer. This use of materials allows for precision construction, structural integrity and a finish second to none.
Once the panels, rails and stiles are constructed, they are boredwith dowel joints and glued. Each door then is fitted with a 1.2 cmsolid wood lip to allow for planing during the fitting process. Thedoor is then assembled by hand and cold pressed under anextremely high pressure. Once the door has been manufacturedit is typically sanded to an open grain finish and finished withthree coats of our trademark satin varnish.
