K-5 Mathematics Precision Review
Comments received during 90 days of posting from:
• Teachers• Curriculum Coordinators• Parents• Higher education faculty• CRCT item review teacher teams• About 100 stakeholders
General theme of comments:
• Language clarification• More specificity• Gaps in vertical alignment of content• Decimal fractions
Edit at every grade levels:
• Inserted statement with regards to vocabulary in each terms and symbols box at the end of the standards
• Aligned vocabulary listed in the terms and symbols boxes for each grade level
Edits at K-2 grade levels:•Kindergarten: ▫Added specificity and clarity to language▫Changed no basic content
• First: ▫Added some clarity of language▫Changed place value notation from 1 to 100 into 1 to 99▫ Included height under measurement
•Second: ▫Added some clarity of language▫Added number of seconds in a minute to measurement▫Added pyramids to the list of solid geometric figures

• One day session for 8th grade teachers• One day session for 9th grade teachers• Address make up of CRCT and EOCT• Address appropriate use of Coach Books• Suggest best practices
