1 Cronus Bhaskar: 100% light bulb inspection The Cronus Bhaskar is the latest addition to the Admesy Cronus series. It
is based on the well-known Admesy spectro-colorimeter combination of a
VIS spectrometer with a tri-stimulus colorimeter. This unique combination
allows the user to choose between detailed spectral information of the
spectrometer and high speed colour, light and flicker measurements of the
colorimeter. The Cronus Bhaskar measurement system is designed as an
production-friendly extension to standardized measurement geometries
and conditions as described by CIE.
The new Bhaskar can be considered a mix between an integrating sphere
and typical cosine corrector measurement systems, optimized for fast,
accurate and repeatable inline measurements of LED bulbs. The optical
configuration of the Cronus Bhaskar is designed to cover an entire typical
E27 (or similar size) fitting light bulb, acting like an integrator. Offering
accurate and repeatable measurements in terms of colour, relative total
light output and optional flicker and start-up behaviour within a couple of
milliseconds for 100% inspection of lighting products.
2 Highlights Spectral range 380-780nm

3 Application areas The Cronus Bhaskar is used for measurements in solid state lighting
development and production processes. Due to the spectrometer the
Cronus is ideal to develop and monitor the spectral colour of LED light
sources during development, during long term testing or in production.
The colorimeter in the Cronus Bhaskar allows for high-speed 100%
inspection of your light bulb production checking the quality of all your
products, leading to increased product quality and production efficiency.
The spectrometer can be used for both spectral and colour
measurements.
Controlling your LED lighting system is crucial. Not only visible light flicker
within the range ~3 to ~70Hz but also invisible (non-perceivable) flicker
can have an effect on human health. Ranging from headaches, migraines
or impaired visual performance to an increased risk of seizures research
has shown that flicker is an effect with reason for concern.
The build-in colorimeter and large internal memory of the Cronus Bhaskar
allows for high speed measurements over a long period of time. This
enables the user to check flicker effects over time and during fade of the
light source. Adjusting the driver during development and checking the
flicker effect of each light source during production leads to increased
performance and end-user satisfaction and health.

4 Optical configuration The Cronus Bhaskar is equipped with a fixed optical system which can
cover an entire regular E27 fitting type light bulb. In production lines for
100% inspection, a light bulb is positioned into the tube opening. The inner
surface of the tube acts as an integrator alike an integrating sphere and
allows for relative total luminous and radiant flux measurements. Typical
installation applications include multiple Cronus Bhaskar systems for
simultaneous measurements which are calibrated against a full
standardized integrating sphere measurement setup with a reference light
bulb.
