1995, decree n.504 brought simplifications and innovations

into the complex bureucratic procedures which the production

of beer was subjected.

was born

The Ministerial Decree n. 212/2010 gives a new opportunity to italian

craftsmanship, it allows the birth of agricultural craft brewery, a proper

sub-level of italian craft beer.

The law sum up a new list of goods (beer, bread, grape spirits, flour and

baker’s fresh products) to be considered related to agricultural production.

For the beer production, at least 51% of the raw materials used for produ-cing it have to be produced from the

agricultural firm itself.

An agri-brewery is afforded certain tax benefits, and the sales tax on

agri-beer is 10 percent instead of the standard 21 percent.

It's important to highlight that this law has opened new and potentially

interesting spaces for multifunctionali-ty in agriculture.

06.07.2016: craft beer production become law

“All’articolo 2 della legge 16 agosto 1962, n. 1354, dopo il comma 4 è aggiunto il seguente: « 4-bis . Si definisce birra artigianale la birra prodotta

da piccoli birrifici indipendenti e non sottoposta, durante la fase di pproduzione, a processi di pastorizzazione e di microfiltrazione. Ai fini del presente comma si intende per piccolo birrificio indipendente un birrificio che sia legalmente ed economicamente indipendente da qualsiasi altro birrificio, che utilizzi impianti fisicamente distinti da quelli di qualsiasi altro birrificio, che non operi sotto licenza di utilizzo dei diritti di proprietà immateriale altrui e la cui produzione annua non superi 200.000 ettolitri, includendo in

questo quantitativo le quantità di birra prodotte per conto di terzi”.
