Innovation in motion

For seven days, the participants at the event showed their passion and generosity. Passion expressed in their way of enjoying the content, to live each hour with their friends, and transforming technology in their own lifestyle. Generosity because they are sharing, through their ideas and projects, all their knowledge to write the new rules of digital culture.

The true source of innovation in Campus Party is in its participants. Innovate is to share and to read the contributions & keys from others toadvance on their own projects. It is an attitude that seeks complete withimagination that does not yet exist. Innovation is, in short, build thefuture. And that is what they are getting.

Conferences, workshops, panel discussions, competitions ... More than 300 hours of training and a full week to experience the biggest event of innovation, creativity, entertainment and digital culture connected in the world.

The final frontier. On July 30, 2010 Campus Party handed over all borders. A balloon, built by astronomers of the event, in collaboration with participants from CampusBot, reached out space and sent, from 35 miles up, so spectacular images like this..

HTML5 Workshop. José Manuel Cantera, Telefónica R& D, showed the keys of a language that will become one of the semantic web standards, the next evolutionary step in Internet

Music and social networking. One of the most expected moments of the event took place with the visit of two talented musicians: Ivan Ferreiro and Carlos Jean. Along with journalists and bloggers, both discussed how the Internet is changing the musical production and distribution.

The universe for everyone. The lecture "Introduction to Astronomy" got that many participants would be interested in the possibility of taking the first steps in a discipline capable of explaining a lot of our past and anticipate, at the same time, what lies ahead.

The magic of mathematics. Although it does not seem easy to find convergence between the magic and computers, Fernando Blasco, a professor of Applied Mathematics at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, showed through a fun talk the importance of mathematics in card games.

Face to face. Pau Garcia Milà, creator of EyeOS, and Eduardo Arcos, founder of Hipertextual, confronted their views about the future of the Internet, social media and how to become a successful entrepreneur in the digital world.

Working in the age 2.0. Times are changing and how to find a job, too. The contribution of Alfonso Alcantara, editor in yoriento.com, in his lecture "Use 2.0" was instructive and useful for the attendees.

Trends in videoclips. Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, director at Cuatro Cabezas, and Manu Trenado, director at MTV Television, reviewed the best music of the past 30 years, in a speech full of humor and musical references.

Football and Twitter. The Community managers for Valencia, Real Madrid and Barcelona, discussed the influence of new media in sports media in a discussion panel moderated by David Padilla, head of content at Marca.com.

Formative content. Hundreds of hours of learning guarantee the consistency of Campus Party. The workshops conducted in all content areas enabled the participants to learn from the hands of reputable professionals in the world of technology, creativity and science.

Robots to suit all tastes. The robotics workshops and competitions, both advanced as those for those who wanted to take their first steps in this discipline, noted for its diversity and emotion: from classics robo-trackers to curious climbing robots.

The best Spanish game developers. The fifth edition of Desarrollador_ES prizes, awarded by DOID (Developers Association of Interactive Digital Entertainment) and Campus Party in Valencia brought together the best developers in our country.

Lights, camera, action. Hundreds of campuseros participated in the filming of a spectacular lipdub that went through all the facilities of the event. An explosion of time synchronizing, rhythm and above all, humor

Pure excitement. As usual in all editions of the event, the games finals generated great buzz and a large audience gathered in front of the stage. Music, sports, wrestling and strategy were the most successful fields among participants.

A new record. It's becoming a tradition. The modders have marked the week of Campus Party as a date that will undoubtedly set a new record for overclocking. And this year did not failed, posting a europeanrecord PC Mark thanks to the sponsorship from Intel.

His controversial Benetton campaigns made him a world leader. Toscani gave an overview of his long career and he demonstrated at Campus Party the strength of his artistic discourse and how much he can still contribute to the world of digital creativity.

"Young people should have an open mind and do not put limitations." Researcher at Carnegie Mellon University in California, Allen predicted that in the next 15 years, we will experience a revolution in Robotics and He encouraged the participants to be part of it.

Pedro García LarioSpainAstrophysicist (European SpaceAgency)

Herschel Space Telescope will study the most distant and cold places in the universe. The support group responsible for the scientific community of this project was in Campus Party explaining one of the cornerstones of the European Space Agency.

Rubén SantamartaSpainNetworking security specialist

His ten years of experience discovering vulnerabilities in the world most famousoperating systems guarantee Santamarta`stalent. In Campus Party, He masterfully exposed the risks we all face when surfing the Internet and existing techniques to overcome them

Alex Puig SpainCreator of Twittexperts

Social media expert, Puig not only dared to make predictions about the future of social networking, also surprised with a new conference format in which his speech is built through the active participation of the attendees themselves.

Bram VanderborghtBelgiumResearch in Robotics

Bram showed to the campuseros its image of a near future: a world full of robots in the service of human beings to make our lives easier. And he did, also with case studies in which he is investigating and working both in Europe and Japan.

Full of good humor and imagination, as hisown work, the conference of Leonardis was one of the most celebrated events. The Argentine, author of works awarded in many festivals, explained the need to put the talent to customer service.

Jorge VigaraSpain3D Animator

The young entertainer from Madrid shared with the campuseros his experience in some of the best studios in Europe. He ventured to predict that the animation cinema soon will transcend the false label of “made for children" to reach all type of audiences.

Jordi Torres SpainGreen Computing Specialist

The effectiveness of new technologies to conserve the environment is something that is very familiar with Jordi Torres. Ph.D. in Computer Science, he demonstrated at Campus Party with practical examples how the modification of certain customs based on new technologies can help the planet.

Raúl PolitSpainSpace Arquitecture Specialist

Member of the American Institute of Astronautics and Aeronautics, the Valencian architect went back to the beginning of the earliest human settlements, to explain in an exciting conference how we will inhabit the space in a not too distant future.

Campuseros present

Campuseros Present has been consolidated as an area in which to work, innovate and learn new techniques in development, hardware, hacks, APIs and everything related to technology. Throughout the week, the participants presented their projects, turning Campus Party into a forum for innovation in different disciplines.

Above all the initiatives sent, we selected ten projects that were submitted to the opinion of a panel of experts. In this final selection, applications were presented such as social networks, video games, educational software, animation series, and even a vehicle capable of carrying a robot to the moon, among other projects.

The winner of the Innovation Award was Botize, an online tool for creating bots and Twitter services without any prior technical knowledge, thanks to its API and the availability of plug-ins.
