COSTUME AND PROPS
Joey Carabini, Tom Glasgow and Charlie Smith
CLOTHING Both characters will wear modern,
fashionable clothing. This is important as we must have
relevant mise-en-scene in order to improve the authenticity and appeal more to our young target audience.
Featuring well-known and respected brands such as Adidas and Nike will add sophistication to our film and grab the attention of a wider audience.
However, we want the characters to be dressed in quite plain clothing to ensure that the clothing does not distract the audience from the story.
The t-shirt of the victim will be plain white as this emphasises the blood.
We plan to buy these clothes from Topman’s online shop.
THE PHONE We want to include
modern technologies in our OTS to appeal to our young target audience.
For this reason, Tom will use his Iphone to check the time when Joey goes to urinate.
We also feel that featuring an Iphone (Apple Inc. product) will add credibility to our OTS.
FAKE BLOOD The use of fake will make our film appear more realistic and
specific to the genre. We will make the blood out of washing up liquid, syrup, red
food colouring and water. We have watched tutorials on Youtube to learn how to do
this effectively. The fake blood will cover the victim’s neck and white t-
shirt.
THE OBSTACLE We will use a large tree stump which is already in our location
as a make-shift prop to obstruct Tom when running from the slasher.
We feel that it is important to include props from the natural environment in our location as this adds realism and makes it more believable.
THE KNIFE We will use a meat cleaver and cover it in fake
blood to connote that it has recently been used. We can buy the meat cleaver in hardware shops
for around £15.00. We will make the fake blood using fairy liquid,
syrup, red food colouring and water.
