Corrosion Technology AAS Degree
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Corrosion Technology prepares the student for the most common fields of corrosion control and integrity management. Corrosion Technology utilizes chemistry,
electricity, physics, metallurgy and other sciences to prevent or control corrosion damage. Corrosion technicians applies these sciences to control the chemical and mechanical aspects that are involved in the deterioration of properties. Graduates with this degree will apply these sciences to control the chemical and mechanical aspects that are involved in the deterioration of properties which we call “Corrosion.” The program includes hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment and computer-based research. There is a practical internship and opportunity to become certified by NACE International as a Level I Corrosion Technician and/or Level I Cathodic Protection Tester. This degree also prepares the student for future certification as a NACE Level I Coatings Inspector, NACE Level I Internal Corrosion Technologist and/or NACE Level I PCIM Technician.
