A Note from the Playhouse - Member Supported Theatre
In this darkly comic rock-fable, Fly by Night centers on a love triangle in mid-1960s New York. A melancholy sandwich maker’s humdrum life is intersected by two entrancing sisters who’ve just landed in New York. One is a pretty blonde aspiring Broadway star, the other, an astronomy-
loving waitress. Throw in a narrator who sets the scenes and winds you through this tale of making your way and discovering hope in a world beset by darkness.
We are proud of the cast and creative team who have brought together a total experience for you of beautiful music, enchanting visuals, and lots of emotion that will leave you thinking about the connections in your life.
This award-winning show has never been produced in San Diego, but I know audiences will love it and want to see it again. So, to anyone who comes back to see Fly By Night a second time and brings a new friend we will take $5 off each of your tickets. Contact our box office for details.
Our 2018 Season is announced! We have a great year in store for you, adding three fabulous and unique concerts, all which can be bundled up in a nice little package so you don’t miss a thing. They make great holiday gifts, from tickets to a single show or concert, to the entire season. The gift that keeps on giving.
We hope you enjoy your experience today and want to remind you we are hosting Hispanic Arts Theatre’s, La Posada Magica, December 15th-17th, a traditional holiday celebration of music and family.
Thank you for supporting performing arts, we wish you a healthy and happy upcoming holiday season and hope to see you back again next year.

Coronado Playhouse is the Community’s TheatreCoronado Playhouse is committed to giving back to the local community, beyond offering quality entertainment, by using its public platform to help those in need.
During the run of Fly By Night, Coronado Playhouse is partnering with Father Joe’s Villages in an effort to bring exposure and donations to
this excellent organization serving San Diego’s homeless population. Father Joe’s provides housing, rental assistance, healthcare, food, clothing, education, job training, mental health, addiction treatment and child development in an internationally modeled “one-stop-shop” approach. Please visit my.neighbor.org to find out more on how you can help support this worthy cause.
A little over 2 years ago I stumbled across the music for Fly By Night and fell in love with it and soon after reading the script I knew I wanted to direct this piece. Fly By Night is a warm, delicious, bitter-sweet musical that explores the meaning of love, home, loss, and how in some way, either big or small, we are all connected. This amazing cast and creative team have all helped create a world where we can hopefully delight and move you.As you will see, Fly By Night makes it clear that we are all made out of star stuff thus in turn we are all connected. We might not always see it or feel it but we all exist in the vastness of the universe, and are all going through this human experience in all its terrifying beauty, but we are connected even at the cellular level. Everyone who comes and sees this play will sit together in a dark theater and, in a way,
agree to go on this particular journey together. For a moment everyone sitting in the theater will be connected in time through this one single shared event regardless of your faith, race, gender or age and I think there is a great comfort in that.Manny Bejarano, Director, Fly By Night
