programThe 3rd International Congress of Translational

Research in Human Nutrition covers integrative ap-proaches in nutrition from basic science to clinical applications. The meeting focuses on the role of the intestinal microbiota in chronic diseases, with both in-testinal and extra-intestinal manifestations. Recently, high throughput approaches have greatly enhanced our knowledge of the nature and function of the intes-tinal microbiota, and helped to highlight the role of key gut microbes in various chronic diseases. In clinical settings, this integrative approach is compulsory for a better understanding and management of the complex interplay between microbiota, nutrition and pathologi-cal disturbances such as intestinal bowel diseases and/or extra-intestinal chronic diseases. Manipulating the microbiota through nutritional approaches seems very promising for the forthcoming management of such chronic diseases.

The meeting will be held in Clermont-Ferrand, the capital of Auvergne, with its Universities, University Hos-pitals and Research Institutes such as INRA, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research and Inserm, the National Institute for Medical Research. Auvergne is a magnifi cent province of France, famous for its vol-canoes such as the Puy de Dôme, its history, castles, Roman churches and gastronomy. The Scientifi c and Organizing Committees set up an attractive scientifi c program with outstanding international speakers. We will be delighted to welcome you in Clermont-Ferrand and to make you discover the charms of Auvergne.
