The birth in 1946
The first production facility started in Albino (BG) in 1946 and within a few decades, the present production of truck cranes evolved. The initial activity consisted in the transformation and out-fitting of industrial vehicles with extensions, addition of axles and fixed and dumper bodies. The first Fassi crane was created in 1965.
After an initial breaking-in period, the entire productive resources of the company turned to the new, but certainly growing, product.
The facility was enlarged and the number of employees increased. New factories sprung up to form the present structure, grouping different independent compa-nies all working to produce products proposed by Fassi Gru S.p.A.

THE PRODUCTION
From idea to finished product: technology and efficiency
DES
IGN
Each machining phase is completely performed within the production units forming the Fassi Group in compliance with the standards which make up the Factory Quality system. The welding process, qualified according to international standards, is entrusted to automated welding machines.
The painting process is done by automatic and semi-auto-matic plants on dissembled crane parts. The process invol-ves sandblasting, automatic phosphoric degreasing, rinsing, drying, primer, coats of enamel finish with an electrostatic gun and finally oven drying. The rigid tubing and fittings are galvanized.
At the end of the production cycle, every crane is tested by means of load calibration and consequent sealing of the installed safety system.

Fascan’s history: from Albino to Baltimore
The roots of Fascan lnternational go back to 1982 when Bernie J. Faloney, Sr., owner of Contrac-tor’s Machinery and Equipment Ltd. in Burlington, Ontario, began to sell Fassi articulated hydrau-lic cranes. Faloney’s success with the Fassi product line across Canada led Fassi to offer Faloney the opportunity to expand his operations to the United States. Faloney accepted, and on May 15, 1992, Fascan lnternational, lnc. was incorporated in the State of Maryland. Fascan began impor-ting Fassi articulated cranes and aerial work platforms for distribution throughout the United States and the Caribbean.
Fascan was initially headquartered in a 10,000- square-foot distribution facility in Baltimore, Maryland, 40 miles north of Washington, D.C. Bernie J. Faloney, Jr., was appointed president and CEO of the new company. Fascan’s success with the Fassi line has resulted in several moves for increased capacity within the greater Baltimore area. lt is currently operating from a 55,000 squa-re foot facility in Sparrows Point, Maryland. Since 1992, Fascan has put more than 5,702 Fassi cranes into service across the U.S.A.

FASS I IN U.S.A.
Fascan brings its customers a network of more than 300 Fassi-certified service points across the United States, including dealers and independent service yards, giving Fassi crane owners a level of support that is unmatched in the industry.
In addition, Fascan has pioneered a singular service program in which owners of a Fassi SE Wallboard Crane can have the cost of three years’ worth of the crane’s regular maintenance underwritten as an incentive to intercept small problems before they become large - and much more costly - ones. In the six (2007 - 2013) years since this program’s introduction, Fascan has saved itself and its customers hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost operating time and repair costs per crane.
Fascan continues to build on its successes, one customer at a time. Fascan’s leadership, engineers and service professionals remain committed to providing expert solutions and industry-leading support for each crane it sells.

FASCAN IN THE FIELD
THE U.S. MILITARY
Fascan’s application of specially designed and installed in-terrogation arms for military vehicles was recognized by the U.S. Army as one of the “Top Ten lnventions for 2007”. The equipment was created for identifying and removing impro-vised explosive devices (IEDs) in the combat zones of Iraq and Afghanistan. Today, Fascan has more than 2,000 cranes in service across all branches of the U.S. military.
1 WORLD TRADE CENTER
Fascan customized two F800BXP. 28L214 articulating cranes to handle and position more than 26,000 tons of rebar within the tower which allowed the contractor to complete one 40,000 sq. ft. floor every week. The cranes connected to traveling pedestals which held the concrete pumps and rose through the core of the structure on a hydraulic-supported, floating form.
