Coastal & Sustainability Impacts

•Height – community agreed to restrain height along Back Beach south of “Welcome Inn” site to approximately 3 storeys (similar to Marlston Waterfront)

•Need to allow “high rise” in the CBD to sustain & facilitate a population target of 10,000

•Need to prevent large scale urban sprawl and associated clearing up and down the coast (like Perth) the United States Model

•Seek to create a “European” village series on interconnected urban centres each containing diverse opportunities

• City Vision will deliver a “balanced” infrastructure programme to be funded principally by realising current Crown and Council land.

• Seek PPP’s (Public Private Partnerships) to deliver key public infrastructure and services.

• Private Sector (development) investment facilitated through strong population and economic growth and encouraged through a clear planning framework which provides high levels of certainty.
