Coal Seam Gas Mining -Is it the best option for us and the environment?

By Tania Clark

Queensland often suffers from

drought with the largest

drought in history recorded this

year – 2014.

The Chronicle, 2014

The process required to mine

coal seam gas requires large

amounts of water, a precious

resource that Queenslanders

already have little of.

ABC News Online, 2012

Reports have shown that water

and air pollution, as well as

contamination of chemicals to

other natural resources is a result

of the mining of coal seam gas.

The Australian Institute, 2014

Lock the Gate Alliance, 2012

Mining companies are making

promises of boosting the

economy, creating more jobs

and providing a cleaner source

of energy……

But at what cost???

Mining coal seam gas has a

lasting impact on our

environment.

Coal seam gas accounts for less

Origin, 2014

Solar, wind and hydroelectric

energy are just a few of the

alternatives to coal seam gas

that will not cause harm to us

or our environment.

Alternative Energy
