BOYS AND MEN FOR GENDER EQUALITY
AN OVERVIEW OF NAMEN NAMEN—The North American MenEngage
Network—is a bi-national network of organizations
and individuals across Canada and the USA working
to engage men and boys to promote gender equality.
NAMEN works in the following areas:
• Sexual and reproductive health and rights,
• HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment,
• Reducing violence against women and girls,
• Challenging homophobia and advocating
for LGBTI rights,
• Reducing other forms of violence between
men and boys,
WHAT WE DO
NAMEN is a network. As a network, most of what we
do is generated by our members.
We provide a means by which members (individuals
and organizations) can connect with each other
regarding their efforts to engage men and boys.
We also share resources and materials, and offer
regular webinars about a variety of topics related to
engaging men and boys.
JOIN US
• Addressing the role of boys and men in child
sexualexploitation,sexualabuse,andtrafficking,
• Promoting men’s positive involvement in
maternal and child health and as fathers or
caregivers, and
• Efforts to change macro level policies that
perpetuate gender inequalities.
NAMEN is a part of the global menengage
network, menengage.org, and as such, is a part of
an international network providing members with
access to resources, tools, and lessons learned from
throughout the world.
