Sentence: When more than one words sitting side by side express full meaning is called sentence. There are five kinds of sentence according to meaning.

Assertive Interrogative Imperative Optative Exclamatory

Assertive Sentence: The sentence which expresses is called Assertive sentence.

The boys play football.

The girls go to school.

Affirmative Negative

Assertive Sentence

Affirmative: The sentence that expresses positive expression is called Affirmative sentence.He is reading a book.

Negative Sentence: The sentence that expresses negative expression is called Negative sentence.

He does not go to school.

Interrogative Sentence: A sentence that asks a question to know something about a person or a thing is called Interrogative sentence. It ends with a question mark.

When will you go home?

Do they take breakfast?

Why are they laughing?

Imperative Sentence: A sentence that gives a command or an order or an advice or a request is called Imperative sentence.

Get out of the classroom.

Take your vitamins.

Chew your food slowly.

Clean your room.

Optative Sentence: A category of grammatical mood that expresses a wish, hope, or desire.

May you be happy.

Long live Bangladesh.

Exclamatory Sentence: a sentence that expresses emotion, strong feeling, pleasure or sorrow is Exclamatory sentence. It ends with an exclamation mark- (!).

How nice the bird it is!

What a beautiful flower it is!

Alas! I am undone!
