The case studies were very useful to put the ethical concepts described in the foundation text into a practical "real life" context.

Hrs mentoring

Mentoring is thought to be important to the professional development of students and young investigators. There is some indication from the literature that mentoring can actually be

counterproductive in the sense that trainees learn short cuts and questionable practices from advisors and mentors. What do you think?

Having completed the CITI Course in the Responsible Conduct of Research and gained a better understanding of how damaging research misconduct can be to students, to the institutions and to other investigators, I am now more likely to report a clear act of Misconduct to the

appropriate person.
