December 25: No Nursery
Christmas festivities are in full swing, and I know that your calendars are full. However, I do want to remind you of a couple special dates. On Christmas Eve, we will be having a special Candlelight Service at 4pm, and we will observe the Lord’s Supper during the service. The nursery will not be open, so this will be a great family time together. On Christmas morning, we will only have a worship service, and it will be at 10am, which is an hour earlier than our normal worship time. We will not have Sunday School, Children’s Church, or Nursery that morning so all our families can worship together. I also have one new item that you need to add to your calendar. Angela and I would like to invite you to our house for a church-wide Open House on Sat-urday, December 31. This come-and-go event will be from 2pm-5pm. Our address is 508 Wickwood Dr. in Booneville. We will have some holiday snacks and would love for you and your family to stop by and visit. The prophet Isaiah wrote, “For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace.” Christmas is a unique experience for all of us be-cause the holidays dredge up many emotions on many different levels. However, regardless of the season of life we find ourselves in, we serve a God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and God loved us enough to send His Son, Jesus. So, this Christmas, if you’re feeling down, remember that Jesus is your Wonderful Counselor, who is there to carry your burdens. If you’re feeling weak, remember that Jesus is your Mighty God, who is stronger than your greatest obstacles. If you’re feeling lonely, remem-ber that Jesus is your Eternal Father, who will never leave you or for-sake you. If you’re feeling stressed out, remember that Jesus is your Prince of Peace, who provides a peace that surpasses all understand-ing. Whatever circumstances you find yourself in this Christmas, re-member that God loves you, and Jesus can meet your needs no matter how big or small they may seem. Merry Christmas to you and your family. May God bless you richly this holiday season. In Christ, Jason
Thanks to each of you for your concern during our brother’s illness and expressions shown at his death. Death always takes it’s toll, even for believers in Christ’s resurrection. Nelene and JoAnn
The last day for year-end contributions is Wednesday,
December 28, 2016.
2017 offering envelopes are now available and are located on tables
in the hallway behind the sanctuary.
A very special thank you to each of you who helped to make our sanctuary beautiful this Christmas season by placing poinsettias in memory
or in honor of your loved ones. Poinsettias may be picked up at the end of worship service this coming Sunday morning, December 18th.

A Message from Carter’s Corner This week in the life of our youth, we continue to talk about the Christmas Story during our Wednesday night time together. Also, this upcoming Sunday our youth will have a Christmas breakfast during the Sunday School time together. We are very grateful for our Sunday School teachers and their hard work and effort in teaching our students each Sunday. Our 10th - 12th grade teachers are Roger Rhodes and Lori Horn. Our 7th - 9th grade Sunday School teachers are Destinie Duckworth and me. As Christmas time approaches, I humbly ask that you pray for our students. So many of them will go through this upcoming Christmas without a parent or a grandparent. These students need our prayers, they need our support, they need our love. We are certainly very proud of our youth at FBC Booneville and their witness each day at school and in their activity groups at school. On behalf of everyone who works in our youth department and from all of our students at FBC Booneville, we wish you and your family a Merry Christmas! ▪Act Justly ▪Love Mercy ▪Walk Humbly
