Chiropractic Tips for the Office

Some chiropractic tips to live by for a healthy office space.

Your Desk & WorkspaceChoose a desk that is the appropriate height.

You should be able to reach all of the items you need easily, without straining too much. Keep a document or book holder nearby to help reduce

strain on your eyes.

Your MonitorEnsure your monitor is placed in a position

that does not strain your head or neck. Having your neck in a strained position,

looking up or down, or leaning forward can cause unnecessary stress on your spine,

upper back, and neck.

Your Keyboard, & MouseWhen typing, try to keep your wrists straight,

and avoid applying pressure on your wrist when using the mouse. Keep your shoulders

perpendicular to the floor, so as to reduce any unnecessary strain.

Your ChairYour feet should be able to touch the ground, and your legs and back should create a ~90

degree angle. Avoid slouching, and keep your neck and head upright.

Your PhoneWhen using the telephone, your neck,

shoulders, and arm can feel fatigue. For longer phone calls, use a headset to

reduce the stress on your body and to avoid headaches and neck pain.

Preventing InjuriesIn addition to making your workplace

ergonomic, take breaks to stretch, stand, and move around so you can avoid fatigued

muscles, which are more prone to injury. Get up, walk around, and do some basic

stretches to help prevent injury.
