Two Service Models: Turnkey Model and ASP Model
ASP Model
• iEN-ASP provides an energy-saving platform. Customers needn’t build their own
server, only need apply for the services and pay CHT monthly payment.
Turnkey Model
• CHT is responsible for the customers to build and provide iEN services .
• Customers pay CHT one-time fees.

Introduction:
Traditional machine room shortcomings:
• Longer building schedule
• Poor space utilization
• High energy consumption.
The newest planning standard of green data center which uses modular
technologies is implemented in Tou-Fen machine room in 2012.
Requirement:
Modular Technologies :
• High power density design
• Standardization and scalability
• Cooling technologies (In-Row/Rear door heat exchanger )
Case Study 2 : CHT Tou-Fen Data Center (1/2)
21/34
Achievement:
High power density : 3kW/Rack → 15kW/Rack (space saving 82-88% )
Standardization: shorten installing time 50%
Scalability: reduce the cost of the initial construction (market demand)
Cooling technologies to save energy : PUE~1.8-2.7 → PUE~1.3-1.6

Reduce 100,000kg carbon emissions for 2,336
cars every year!
• Conserve energy:
→ Reduce fuel consumption
• Reduce CO2 emissions:
→ Reduce idle speed time
Note: According to the Japan Foundation Energy Savings Test Center report, it shows that if a car idles 10
minutes a day, then for a year, gasoline can save about 51~95 liters and CO2 emissions reduce 120~220kg.

The delivery freights of UPL are mostly low temperature while the ones of TJ are mostly
normal temperature. So that the freights of UPL have to be kept in low temperature during
transportation. Therefore, the trucks of UPL shouldn’t turn off during the driver unloads freights in
order to keep the freight quality. Thus, the decrement of UPL in fuel consumption and idle speed is
less than TJ.
Fuel consumption decrement: 12.4%(TJ) vs. 6.6%(UPL). Idle speed decrement: 45%(TJ) vs.

In 2012, in order to reduce carbon emissions and develop
green energy, Chinese Taipei invest about 2.15 billion US$,
the CO2 reduction is about 4.3 million t.
Green ICT applications (smart energy, smart transportation
,etc.) rely on high-speed broadband infrastructure, the
government and enterprises are actively establishing a
seamless broadband network environment.
Green ICT services provided by CHT (iEN, ITS…) not only
bring-in revenues for CHT and customers, but also reduce the
energy consumption.
In the further, CHT will integrate green ICT services into the
cloud and IOT technologies to provide customers better
services.
